Vivienne Westwood ‘Storm in a Teacup’ 1996 Multi-tartan Jacket

Fully lined tailored tartan wool jacket by Vivienne Westwood from the Autumn Winter 1996 “Storm in a Teacup” collection.

The jacket has a whimsical asymmetric cut with each half of the jacket cut to a slightly different proportion/angle. The lapels are curved and the left shoulder seam is shorter. The right side of the jacket is less tailored and wraps across with a shawl collar. The flap pockets are curved and built-in to reflect the curved shape of the hem. The pink satin lining features a jacquard portrait label of Westwood herself, the Lochcarron tartan manufacturer label and a Union Jack label.

The jacket is sold with a black velvet pencil skirt from St. Bernard as the previous owner originally wore them together as a suit.
