Ruffle pleated wool dress with cap sleeves and asymmetric handkerchief skirt by Comme des Garçons from Spring 1995. The collection was titled “Transcending Gender”, Rei Kawakubo said post show that “spiritually there are no differences between men and women…what is important is being human”. The ruffles are created from the main body of the dress being synched in, also creating the cap shape of the sleeves and revealing part of the shoulder and armpit. With net tutu skirt underneath, the dress has a witchy ballerina silhouette. The top is lined with soft white cotton and there’s a centre back covered zip for fit.
